As part of Mayor Jon Hornik’s Do Good initiatives, Marlboro’s Teen Advisory Committee (TAC) is rolling out its Computer and Cell Phone Training Programs, and will be working with the Senior Advisory Committee and other senior organizations throughout Marlboro in an effort to identify seniors that would be interested in receiving FREE personalized computer and cell phone training. The training will be provided by TAC members and will include basic computer skills, including email and internet search techniques as well as programming of cell phone speed dial numbers.
Another initiative that TAC is rolling out is its Senior outreach program. TAC members will bring a Wii video game and wands to local assisted living facilities and other Senior settings, and will engage Seniors in this very fun interactive video game. It’s a great way to bridge the generation gap and for Teens and Seniors to share a laugh, have some fun, and learn and be mentored by one another.
If you are interested in receiving individual computer or cell phone training at your home, or interacting with Marlboro’s teens while playing the Wii, please send an email to the Senior Advisory Committee at dbarry@marlboro-nj.gov, or call Denise Barry at 732-617-0100.
ABOUT TAC
The Teen Advisory Committee (now in excess of 275 teens), was formed in late Summer 2007 with the support of Mayor Hornik in an effort to give the teens of Marlboro a voice in our local government and to enhance their leadership skills. This committee offers our Teens the chance to share their ideas and visions to help make Marlboro a great town for them and for our entire community. TAC members look forward to giving back to their community and to working with the Seniors of Marlboro.
For additional information about TAC, please email TAC@marlboro-nj.gov or call 732-536-0200.
