As the Marlboro Tax Assessor has been reporting over the past several months, Governor Christie signed P.L. 2013, Chapter 15 into law in March, 2013, authorizing a new manner of assessing property referred to as the “Assessment Demonstration Program”. Subsequently, Marlboro Township was ordered into the program by the Monmouth County Board of Taxation.
The values for 2015 tax year have been adjusted and the County Tax Administrator has mailed the 2015 Assessment Cards.
If you do not agree with your assessment, appeals may now be filed with the County Board of Taxation on line at https://secure.njappealonline.com/prodappeals/login.aspx. Note that the filing deadline for the appeal of property assessments to the Monmouth County Board of Taxation is now January 15 (in previous years the deadline was April 1st).
As your Mayor, please be assured that I will continue to do everything within my statutory power to make sure that Marlboro residents are treated fairly under this new County reassessment program.
Mayor Jonathan Hornik
