Mandatory Assessment Demonstration Program – UPDATE 11/21/2014
As I have been reporting, in March, 2013, Governor Christie signed into law P.L. 2013, Chapter 15 known as the Assessment Demonstration Program. Subsequently, Marlboro Township was ordered by the Monmouth County Board of Taxation to initiate the program. The values for 2015 tax year have been adjusted and the County Tax Administrator has notified my office that the 2015 Assessment Cards have been mailed out.
As with any reassessment process, questions arise regarding values and the process used to obtain those values. If you believe that the value placed on your property is not consistent with market value, you have the opportunity to raise your concern with my office and/or file an appeal to the Monmouth County Tax Board through January 15, 2015.
