June 21, 2017

Tonight, Thursday, June 22, is Graduation Commencement for all 6 schools in the Freehold Regional High School District. The Marlboro Traffic and Safety Division reminds us to expect heavy traffic in the area of the Marlboro High School located on Route 79 between the hours of 4:00 – 7:00pm.  If possible, please avoid the area as the graduates and their families enjoy this momentous occasion.  Congratulations to all the graduates!

ROAD CLOSURE NOTICE: Be advised that Buckley Road, between Inverness Drive and Blueberry Hill, will be closed to through traffic on May 23 and May 24 from 7AM- 4 PM. School buses and First Responders will have access. Please note that this schedule is subject to change and is weather permitting. Detours and signs have been posted and Police Officers will be present to assist with traffic flow. For more, please contact Marlboro Police Traffic & Safety at 732-536-0100 ext. 1571. We ask that you avoid the area if possible.

April 18, 2017

Marlboro Division of Traffic & Safety reports that the NJDOT will hold public meetings for the planned repaving of a portion of State Highway 34.  Meetings will be held on April 25 in Colts Neck and May 2 in Aberdeen.  See FLYER for more.

March 3, 2017 Road Closure: On or about March 6, Old Mill Road will be closed and a detour set up. The roads will be closed for approximately one week from 8:00am to 4:00pm. For more, call 732-536-0100.  Detour route HERE.
November 30, 2016

TRAFFIC ALERT – November 29, 2016
Falson Lane between Texas Road and Monticello Court will be closed for 3-4 weeks for upgrades to the water and sewer lines as well as other road improvements. All vehicular traffic, including buses, will be detoured to Greenwood Road to Ticetown Road to Bernadette Drive. The road will be open to emergency vehicles only.

In addition, a small portion of Wooleytown Road will be closed from Sundew Road to Texas Road. The intersection of Wooleytown and Sundew will remain open and a detour will be in place from Sundew Drive to Mt. Laurel Road to Texas Road.

October 21, 2016

TRAFFIC ADVISORY-  The County has started milling Tennent Road between Route 9 and 520. Weather permitting, it is anticipated that milling and paving work on Tennent Road, from both Route 9 to 520 and Spring Valley to Route 79, will continue through much of next week.  Marlboro Police are on site and detours are in place. Expect heavy traffic and avoid the area if possible. Thank you for your cooperation.

Please note that the annual Little League Tournament will take place this weekend at the fields located on Tennent Road.  Games will be held Thursday and Friday from 5-10pm and all day Saturday, Sunday and Monday.  Heavy traffic is expected.  Please avoid the area if possible. 

November 17, 2015

ROADWORK UPDATE FOR BOTH TENNENT ROAD AND ROUTE 520:
The Monmouth County Department of Transportation will be completing the paving Tennent Road this evening beginning at 8:00pm.  Detours will be in place and the road will be closed.  Upon completion of Tennent Road, the DOT will then immediately begin the resurfacing and paving Route 520 between Kenduck Road and Tennent Road.  The roadwork is expected to take several nights and will occur between the hours of 8:00pm and 6:00am. Note that detours will be in place between Route 9 and Tennent Road.  The County DOT plans to leave one lane open however, you can expect heavy delays and should plan an alternate route.  Marlboro Police will be on site for traffic control and assistance, but we strongly urge you to avoid the area if possible. TENNENT ROAD CONSTRUCTION UPDATE.  Due to weather delays, the Monmouth County Department of Transportation plans to begin paving Tennent Road tonight, Thursday, November 12  from Route 18 to Spring Valley Road 8:00pm until 6:00am.  The paving is expected to take three nights.  Message boards and a full detour will be in place. Traffic travelling south on Tennent  will detour to Spring Valley Road to Texas Road to Route 9 South to Route 520. Reverse this detour for traffic traveling north on Tennent Road.  Marlboro Police will be on site for traffic control and assistance, but please avoid the area if possible.  Please note that this schedule can again change due  to weather or other scheduling conflicts.  For more, please contact the Marlboro Division of Traffic and Safety at 732 536-0100.  Thank you for your cooperation.

Please be advised that the Township will soon commence the Texas Road Phase II improvements which will include the reconstruction of Texas Road between Mountain Laurel Road and Spring Valley Road.  The construction contract for the work has been awarded to S. Brothers Inc., with the construction to commence on or about July 15, 2015.  The construction is expected to take between six to eight weeks, weather permitting.  There will be a detour set up for the duration of the project with the roadway open to emergency vehicles and camp/school buses at all times.  On behalf of Mayor Hornik and the Township Council, we would like to thank you for your anticipated cooperation in this matter and apologize in advance for any inconveniences that may be caused during the construction while we complete this necessary capital improvement.

Monmouth County will be milling sections of Route 520 near Crine Road tomorrow, Wednesday, February 25, 2015 beginning at approximately 9:00 am.  A detour will be set up prior to the start of work which will be completed tomorrow.  This is an interim step to alleviate ongoing concerns with potholes until Spring when the County's roadway resurfacing project will commence.
