Greenwood Road between Texas Road and Ticetown Road  will be closed to traffic from Wednesday August 6 through Friday, August 8 for pipe replacement and interim road repairs.  Please follow posted detour signs and plan alternate route when possible.  Thank you in advance for your cooperation.  For more information, please call the Police non-emergency line at 732-536-0100.

Texas Road Reconstruction and Road Closure Notice


Please note that Boundary Road will be closed for repaving from Clover Hill Road to Route 520 during the work day Wednesday, July 23 – Friday, July 25, 2014. Detour signs are posted. If possible, please avoid the area and plan alternate route.


A section of Robertsville Road closed for 4 to 6 weeks.


Station Road will have portions of the road resurfaced through tomorrow, July 23, 2014. At least one lane will remain open to through traffic.

Robertsville Road Update: Robertsville Road is now open to traffic. For information please call the Marlboro Police at ‎732-536-0100. We appreciate your cooperation as the County made the required repairs. 


The Township will be performing interim paving improvements to the "S-Curve" at Amboy Road on Friday, May 23rd, weather permitting. The road will be subject to alternating lane closures while the work is performed. It is recommended that residents ‎utilize Tennent Road and Texas Road as an alternate to Amboy Road from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Additional improvements to Amboy Road will be performed in Fall 2014. ROUTE 520 ROAD CLOSURE NOTICE: The Monmouth County Roads Departments will close County Route 520 between State Highway 79 and Wyncrest Road beginning Tuesday May 6th from 8:00PM until Wednesday 6:00am. The Road will be closed to all local traffic, however the road will be passable for emergency vehicles. Detours will be posted. Please avoid the area if possible. Thank you for your cooperation as the County makes these necessary road repairs.


UPDATE ROBERTSVILLE ROAD: Robertsville Road has now reopened to all traffic. We will send an update when the county schedules the permanent repairs. Thank you for your cooperation. For additional information please call Marlboro Police at 732-536-0100.


Beginning the week of April 14, the Old Bridge Municipal Utilities Authority will be installing new sewers on Texas Road.  The construction is expected to last five (5) weeks.  On WEEKDAYS Texas Road will be closed to vehicles between Route 9 and Marlboro Road.  Texas Road will be open to traffic on weekends.  Detour signs will be posted and the Old Bridge Police will be present for traffic control.  Please see the attached notice sent to Old Bridge residents for additional information.


UPDATE! Due to weather conditions, the County DOT has advised us that Route 520 between Crine Road and Westbrook Drive will be closed for paving TODAY (February 24, 2014) from 9:30am to 3:30pm. School Buses and emergency vehicles will be able to pass through the closure. Please follow the posted detour. Avoid the area if possible. Please call Marlboro Traffic and Safety at (732) 536-0304 for additional information.


February 20, 2014 The County DOT has advised us that Route 520 between Crine Road and Westbrook Drive will be closed for paving on Thursday, February 20, 2014 from 9:30am to 3:30pm. School Buses and emergency vehicles will be able to pass through the closure. Please follow the posted detour. Avoid the area if possible. Please call Marlboro Traffic and Safety at (732)

Beginning on Monday, January 27, 2014, the County DOT will continue construction on County Road 520 between Route 79 and Conover Road.

Please note that the eastbound lane will be closed to traffic and detour signs will be posted. The westbound lane will remain open to traffic at all times. Due to weather delays, the County DOT is expecting repairs to continue through January 29. Please expect delays and use an alternate route where possible. We will continue to keep you updated as more information is provided.


January 16, 2014 As per the County Department of Transportation, Route 520 between Route 79 and Conover Road will be closed today and Friday. The road closure may be extended into next week if required for necessary repairs.  Marlboro Police will be on site and detour signs are posted. School busses and local residential/business traffic will have access. Please avoid the area if possible.  Thank you for your cooperation.

Municipal Complex Walking Path repairs to begin September 30, 2013.

Beginning on or about September 30, 2013, the Township will begin repairs to the walking path surrounding the Municipal Complex. This "Municipal Complex Walkway Improvements" project, a part of the Township's capital improvement program, will include the repair and resurfacing of the existing deteriorated hot mix asphalt walkways around the Municipal Complex sports fields. The construction contract for the work has been awarded to Lucas Construction Group, Inc. with the work anticipated to take approximately two to four weeks for completion.
During this time sections of the walkways will be subject to closures, as required for certain aspects of the construction. Please note that while sections of the walkway will be subject to periodic closures during construction, all recreation facilities will remain open to the public.

Robertsville Road UPDATE 8/20/2013. Please be advised the improvements to Robertsville Road are now complete.   This project was part of the 2012 Marlboro Capital Program and included repairs or replacements to concrete curbs and gutters, installation of ADA compliant curb ramps and repaving of the entire roadway from Topanemus to the Freehold Border. Thank you for your patience and cooperation during this important project. 


On or about August 12, 2013, the NJ Department of Transportation will begin a  “Route 9 Pavement Rehabilitation” project in Marlboro.  A 14 mile section of Route 9 from the vicinity of Kearny Road in Sayreville through South Amboy, Old Bridge and Marlboro to the vicinity of Symmes/Ryan Road in Manalapan Township will be paved.  Work is expected to be done primarily during the overnight hours. The work will require lanes to be closed and some interchanges to be closed and detoured.  These detours will only be active at night between 9pm and 6 am, all roads will be open to traffic during the day.  As always for your safety, as well as for the safety of the construction crew, please pay attention to any temporary detours posted and follow all traffic control.


Township Line Striping UPDATE 7/23/2013

Line Striping continues this week to the following roads: Masape, Mohawk, Boundary, School Road East, School Road West, Wyncrest from Manalapan line to the Route 18 bridge, Buckley, Inverness, Church Lane, Spring Valley, Ridge Road. Please see the earlier notice for roads already completed.  As always, the schedule is subject to weather delays.    All roads will remain open during this process.
Township Line Striping

07/17/2013  As a part of Township’s continuing road improvement program, DPW has announced that the following roads will be line striped  this week.  On Thursday DPW will be on Station, Amboy, Wooleytown and Greenwood Roads. Line striping will occur on Friday to Church Lane, Reids Hill, Nolan, Ticetown and Boundary Roads.  As always, the schedule is subject to weather delays.    All roads will remain open during this process.


As a part of the Township’s Capital program, we will begin the next phase of the Robertsville Road improvements  beginning at Topanemus Road and continuing South to the Freehold border.  Weather permitting, the road will be milled  on July 10th and 11th , repairs will be made from July 12th to July 19th   and curb-to-curb paving will occur on July 23rd and 24th. 

We will make every attempt to avoid disruptions to traffic while these important improvements are completed, and, as such, Robertsville Road will be open to traffic during the project. The “Improvements to Vanderburg Road – Phase II” project, which will include the resurfacing of the Vanderburg Road from Clark Place to Albermarle Drive, will begin on or about July 1, 2013.  The construction contract for the work has been awarded to Meco, Inc. with the work anticipated to take approximately eight weeks for completion.  The roadway will be subject to lane closures as required for certain aspects of the construction and will be subject to periodic closures and detours during paving operations, on or about August 1, 2013, but will remain open at all times for emergency personnel.  In addition, camp busses will not be impacted.

Repairs to Ginesi Drive will begin May 14, 2013. Milling operations, crack repairs and paving will take place over several days.  The actual paving of the road is scheduled to allow for the least traffic disruption.   

Beginning June 19, 2013, Robertsville Road is to be milled and overlaid from Topanemus to the Freehold Township border. The first phase will be from Topanemus to Ryan and then from Ryan to Freehold border.  The School buses stop running June 21st allowing for less traffic disruption.

As always, the schedule is subject to weather delays. More information will be forthcoming as the projects begin.


Monmouth County has advised the Township that Dutch Lane Rd will be closed from Randolph Rd to School Rd east on April 17th and 18th from 6:00am to 6:00pm for their road resurfacing program.  Detours will be set by the County.  School bus routes will not be affected by the road closures.


The Old Bridge section of Spring Valley Road between Jocama Blvd. and Sanctuary Blvd. will be closed for a period of 3 months beginning April 1. Detour signs will be posted.


Please note that the County and the Department of Public Works will be conducting minor repair work at Route 520 and Crine Road on Wednesday October 24. There will be no detours and the work is expected to last one day.


Please be advised that Greenwood Road, between Texas and Ticetown Roads, will be closed beginning April 24th at 8:00am until further notice. Please plan an alternate route while repairs are being made. Thank you for your patience!
