Winter Storm Niko Update #4

February 9, 2017

Dear Residents:

Temperatures are expected to decrease and the winds increase creating blowing and drifting snow and black ice on roads and sidewalks.  If you must go out, please use caution.
The Department of Public Works (DPW) will continue to plow and treat our roads throughout the night.  If by Friday morning, you think that your street requires additional attention, there are piles of snow in sightlines or other issues, please call DPW at 732-536-0188 or email publicworks@marlboro-nj.gov

As you remove snow from your driveways, we suggest you review page 13 of your Recycling Calendar for Snow Removal Facts and Guidelines

Please do not shovel or blow snow from your cars or the driveway into the street; it creates icing and dangerous conditions.  When clearing snow, where possible, pile the snow to the right of the driveway (looking out to the street from your house). The United States Postal Service asks customers to clear enough snow from their mailboxes to allow mail trucks to approach the box, deliver the mail and drive away. If a fire hydrant is located on your property, it should be cleared of snow to prevent the lines from freezing and allow access in case of fire.
We remind you that due winter weather activity, the OEM has SUSPENDED ALL CURBSIDE BRUSH PICKUP UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.  No brush or other lawn debris may be placed curbside.  Please see the email from Lt. Cherbini, Acting Coordinator of Marlboro OEM for MORE.

You can find us on FACEBOOK and Twitter @MarlboroTwp as well as my Facebook page.  Please see the link below to review the prior Storm Niko messages. Thank you, in advance, for your cooperation and assistance as we work together to weather the storm.
