Hurricane Joaquin
Update #3

Dear Residents:

Marlboro’s Office of Emergency Management (OEM) is monitoring two separate weather events.  Unrelated to the hurricane, Monmouth County is expected to receive significant amounts of rain and wind over the next several days bringing potential flooding and power outages.  Hurricane Joaquin’s track is still uncertain however, we receive updates frequently and will continue to notify you as we do.   The Governor has now declared a State of Emergency for New Jersey setting the stage for local OEM’s to mobilize.

My office continues to be in contact with JCP&L and they have begun preparations should high winds and flooding cause power outages in our area.  We remind you to review JCP&L’s communication tools at http://www.firstenergycorp.com/connect .  JCP&L’s News Release detailing their storm readiness can be read HERE. In addition, New Jersey Natural Gas has issued a NEWS RELEASE reminding customers to take precautions.

We again urge you to prepare for the upcoming weather.  My prior Hurricane Joaquin emails can be found on the Township website:  UPDATE #1 and UPDATE #2

As always, the Marlboro Police Department is available 24 hours a day at (732) 536-0100. For emergencies, please call 9-1-1. We will continue to update the public through email, reverse 9-1-1 and social media, as necessary. Thank you in advance for your cooperation and assistance.

Mayor Jon Hornik
