Hurricane Joaquin
Update #4

Dear Residents:

We continue to monitor two separate weather events.  The latest forecast shows that Hurricane Joaquin is tracking further to the east and is likely to miss the Atlantic Coast. However, currently a front is moving through our area bringing wind and rain and we are under a Wind Advisory until 6pm Saturday evening.  Winds will increase throughout the afternoon and evening bringing winds of 20-30 MPH with gusts up to 50 MPH.   Please move or secure all light outdoor items such as lawn furniture, garbage cans and decorations.

High wind gusts can bring power outages and my office continues to be in contact with JCP&L.  They are prepared should high winds and flooding cause power outages in our area.  We remind you to review JCP&L’s communication tools at http://www.firstenergycorp.com/connect .  JCP&L’s News Release detailing their storm readiness can be read HERE.

We again urge you to prepare for the upcoming weather.  My prior Hurricane Joaquin emails and Storm Preparedness information can be found on the Township website at Storm Updates.
As always, the Marlboro Police Department is available 24 hours a day at (732) 536-0100. For emergencies, please call 9-1-1. We will continue to monitor weather conditions and update the public through email, reverse 9-1-1 and social media, as necessary.

Please stay safe.  Thank you in advance for your cooperation and assistance.

Mayor Jon Hornik
