Weekend Storm Update #1

Dear Resident,

Another storm system is entering our area Friday into Friday night bringing the potential for strong winds, heavy rain and flash flooding. Wind is expected to increase 15 to 30 MPH on Friday with gusts of 45MPH possible by evening and diminishing late Friday night.

The Marlboro Office of Emergency Management (OEM) has preparations in place and asks for resident assistance in clearing leaves and debris from storm drains on or near your property. A clear drain will allow water to run freely reducing flooding and prevent water pollution.

Heavy rains and winds along with already saturated grounds can bring power outages. Ensure all electronics remain fully charged and that flashlights have fresh batteries. Should you experience and outage, report to JCP&L at 888-544-4877 888-LIGHTSS) on line at https://www.firstenergycorp.com/outages_help/Report_Power_Outages.html

We remind you to consider all downed wires as dangerous.  Please report immediately to Marlboro Police at 732-536-0100. Similarly, do not drive through floods or barricades as even a few inches of water can be hazardous.

Please download a free weather app and turn on alerts to track quickly changing weather.  We will update you as needed. Stay safe.
