Emergency Notification System Established

In our efforts to provide more reliable communications with Residents and Businesses in Marlboro Township, we have implemented Swiftreach Networks, Inc. as our Emergency Notification service provider.

SWIFT911™ is a high speed notification program with the capability of delivering recorded warnings to the entire community or targeted areas, via telephone, email, text or pager. There are already over 21,000 phone numbers in the Township’s database. Messages can be transmitted through the Marlboro Township Police Department or Office of the Mayor and the system can contact up to four telephone numbers until reaching the designated party. Emergency and Non-emergency messages are also able to reach TTY (teletypewriter) phones used by those who are deaf or hard of hearing.

SWIFT911™ in its simplest form is a system that makes phone calls to specific people or residential and business areas, in the event of an emergency or for sharing important information. Examples from the Marlboro Township Police Department may be to advise of water or gas main breaks leading to emergency road closures, missing person’s alerts, water shortage regulations or notification of crimes in the area. Examples from the Office of the Mayor may be to advise of Township events such as Town meetings and parades.

The SwiftReach Network phone data has been provided by a third party data provider and only includes listed phone numbers. It is important for residents and business owners to offer additional contact information such as unlisted numbers, unpublished numbers, cell phone numbers or email addresses. Accurate information in the database helps to ensure emergency and non-emergency notifications will be passed on to everyone in a timely manner.

If you currently have an unlisted phone number and would like to take part of Marlboro Township’s notification system, please follow the link below to add or update your contact information.

Minimum information needed will be a name (last, first), address, and at least one (or up to four) phone number(s) you would like to be notified with.

You may also add or change contact information:

  1. Your email address – Any email sent will reflect the voice message(s) that are disseminated from the Marlboro Township Police Department or Office of the Mayor
  2. Your Text Message phone number – Adding a cell phone number within this designation will also give text message alerts and may incur text message costs by your cell service provider. Using the Primary or Alternate Phone designation with a cell phone number will deliver messages without any text messaging. Any Text Message sent will reflect the voice message(s) that are disseminated from the Marlboro Township Police Department or Office of the Mayor.
  3. You may also remove yourself and your phone number(s) from our list by adding your name, marking the Remove button and submitting the request.
