Tropical Storm Isaias Update #2
Dear Resident,
The Marlboro Township Office of Emergency Management continues to monitor the status of Tropical Storm Isaias. We remain under a National Weather Service (NWS) Tropical Storm Warning until 4:15pm today. Additionally, there is a threat of isolated tornados during daytime hours today.
The Governor has declared a state of emergency in advance of the storm and Marlboro Office of Emergency Management (OEM) storm response is in place. Marlboro OEM reminds residents to please stay home and off the roads, unless you must travel. Please obey all detour and road closed signs and avoid flooded roads.
In any event involving rain and high winds, there is a possibility of power outages. The Mayor’s office and Marlboro OEM have been in contact with JCP&L and they have confirmed that resources are available to address outages should they occur. Outages should be reported to JCP&L as reporting helps JCP&L to pinpoint the damage, isolate and restore as safely and quickly as possible. Outages can be called into JCP&L at 1-888-LIGHTSS (1-888-544-4877) to report their outage or click the “Report Outage” link HERE.
Please immediately report downed wires to JCP&L or the Marlboro Division of Police. Never go near a downed power line, even if you think it is no longer carrying electricity.

- Secure all outdoor furniture and belongings, including anything that could become a dangerous projectile during a severe storm.
- Local businesses secure tables, chairs, outdoor fixtures and tents.
- Keep all electronics charged.
- Have a flashlight with fresh batteries nearby.
- Relocate any valuables from low-lying areas or those prone to flooding.
