Weekend Update – Thanksgiving Edition

Dear resident,

Our first Fall Holiday Farmer Market held this past Sunday was a big success.  The event featured more than 30 vendors and three food trucks bringing more than 1,200 shoppers out to support small businesses.  Customers purchased food for their Thanksgiving table, stocked up on items for the winter and started their holiday shopping.  Stay tuned for ways to continue to support these businesses through the winter months.  Many thanks to our market managers and the vendors who work hard throughout the year to bring the Marlboro Farmers Market to the residents every Sunday.  Look for updates via email and social media as we plan for a spring, 2022 opening.

Tomorrow is Thanksgiving and many of us are looking forward to a much more normal celebration and a long holiday weekend. As we celebrate time off with friends and family, I want to thank and express my appreciation for the police officers, dispatchers, first responders, medical professionals, and all those who are on duty answering our emergency calls.

Please see below for Thanksgiving Holiday Township schedule adjustments and for details on our Winter Holiday Lighting, back in person this year.

Leaf Bags may be claimed Monday to Friday from 7am to 2:30pm. Simply complete the on line SDL form and bring your emailed permit with you to the Department of Public Works.  Note DPW is closed Thursday and Friday for Thanksgiving.

Vaccine Boosters/Third Dose – All ages 5 and over are eligible for a COVID vaccine. Adults 18 and older are eligible for a booster shot.  To schedule a vaccine appointment (first or second dose) or get a booster/third dose, please:

I, along with the Township Council and the employees, wish everyone a happy and healthy Thanksgiving Holiday and a very Happy Hanukkah to those that observe. As you shop for the holidays, please remember to support our small businesses.  See you at our Winter Holiday Lighting.

Yours in Community,

Mayor Jon Hornik
