Weekend Update –Daylight Saving Time

Dear Resident,

Daylight Saving Time begins Sunday, March 12 at 2am.  Move your clocks ahead one hour before you head to bed on Saturday.  Our Fire Officials remind residents to ‘Change Your Clocks. Check Your Batteries.’ Test smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors, change replaceable batteries and check the expiration date.

March is Women’s History Month and on the 8th we celebrated International Women’s Day. I want to take this opportunity to acknowledge the women of Marlboro who are the backbone of our community.  I want to thank the women who serve as police officers, dispatchers, firefighters, first aid members and those elected to office. The women who work in Marlboro’s public works, recreation office and in our administrative and finance offices who keep the town running. We could not do all we do if we did not have the many women in our town that volunteer their time to town committees, sports programs, school, non-profit and religious organizations…the list is endless.   I know you balance a lot and I am personally appreciative for all you do.

Please see below for programs and notices.

PUBLIC SAFETY - UPDATE

Thursday, the Marlboro Police placed a notice on the ‘Neighbors Ring Doorbell’ app asking the public for video to assist with an ongoing investigation. Many residents replied to that request and for that we are grateful.  I want to remind residents that it is free to download the Neighbors app and you do not need to have a Ring Doorbell to participate.  The police are able to accept video from any security system.  If you do not have a video surveillance system the app will allow you to stay informed and know when there is a concern in your area.   Simple instructions for downloading the app along with FAQ can be found HERE.

By working together, we are making a difference and reducing successful vehicle thefts. Please remember to lock your car doors, take the key fobs inside, remove garage door openers, lock your house doors and set alarms.  If you have not yet done so request an ‘I Took the Pledge’ lawn sign and download the ‘Neighbors’ app.  Most importantly, if you see anything out of place or suspicious call the police at 732-536-0100.  For crimes in progress dial 911.  To read more about how we, as a community, are working together to keep our homes and families safe, click HERE.
