June 7, 2023 – Air Advisory Update #1
RE: Health Advisory
Before spending time outdoors visit www.airnow.gov
Dear Resident,
Wildfires are currently spreading across the Canadian provinces of Quebec and Nova Scotia and are affecting air quality throughout the northeastern US, including New Jersey, Marlboro and surrounding areas. The National Weather Service Office of Mount Holly has issued an air quality alert for our area until 2:00am Thursday.
Exposure to air pollutants can be hazardous to anyone, especially among sensitive populations including children, seniors or those with compromised immune systems or lung disease. Pet owners should bring their pets inside, keep outdoor walks as brief as possible and wipe down their fur with a wet cloth when they come back inside.
All outdoor Marlboro Recreation programs scheduled for today and tonight are cancelled. Those holding permits for outdoor parks and fields this evening are strongly advised to review the health advisory and visit airnow.gov before spending time outside.
Please review the Air Quality Fact Sheet from the NJ Department of Health to protect you and your loved ones.
Stay safe and we will update you as needed.
