UPDATE #1

RE: Flood Watch/Heat Advisory

Dear Resident,

The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch from 2pm today until 12am Wednesday.  A cold front will approach from the north and west today and will cross the region late tonight through Wednesday morning. Heavy rain/flash flooding concerns continue into Thursday.  Severe thunderstorms with locally damaging downburst wind gusts is the main threat.

A Heat Advisory is currently in effect until 10pm this evening with heat index values around 100 degrees.  Drink plenty of fluids, stay in air conditioned rooms, when possible and check on relatives and neighbors, especially those in susceptible groups.

In the event outages occur due to severe weather, report your outage by calling 1-888-LIGHTSS (1-888-544-4877), clicking the “Report Outage” link on www.firstenergycorp.com, or by texting ‘OUT’ to 544487.

Please visit https://www.ready.gov/plan to make a plan and consider specific needs for your household.   In addition, keep all personal electronics and backup batteries charged and gather flashlights and batteries.

Assume all downed wires are alive and dangerous. Never drive around the barriers blocking a flooded road.  If a road is flooded, turn around.  Report to the Marlboro Division of Police at 732-536-0100 to report.  In case of emergencies, dial 911.

Marlboro Office of Emergency Management is tracking Tropical Storm Debby as it moves through the Southeastern US. While there is a high uncertainty regarding details for our region, areas of very heavy rain and flooding are likely late in the week.

Please have a way to receive weather warning information as it will likely be an active evening and forecasts can change quickly.  Learn more HERE.

We will update you as needed.  Stay safe.
