UPDATE #1
RE: High Wind Warning/Rain
Dear Resident,
The National Weather Service has issued a high wind warning for our area beginning at 6:00pm Tuesday until 4:00am Wednesday. Rain and winds of 35 to 45 mph with gusts up to 60mph are expected.
Note that gusty winds combined with the already saturated grounds could cause downed tree limbs and power outages. We ask that you take a moment to prepare.
We have been in contact with JCP&L and they are prepared to activate their storm response system, if required. In the event outages occur due to severe weather, report your outage by calling 1-888-LIGHTSS (1-888-544-4877), clicking the “Report Outage” link on www.firstenergycorp.com, or by texting out to 544487.
Plan and prepare for an outage at http://ready.nj.gov/plan-prepare/power-outages.shtml Before the storm arrives, review the section ‘What to Do Before a Power Outage’. Some steps include:
- Secure any outdoor decorations, bring in garbage/recycling containers and lay down or bring in basketball hoops.
- Keep all personal electronics and backup batteries charged. Download books/movies onto tablets.
- Secure any outdoor decorations, bring in garbage/recycling containers and lay down or bring in basketball hoops.
- Gather flashlights and batteries.
Assume all downed wires are alive and dangerous. Never drive around the barriers blocking a flooded road. If a road is flooded, turn around. Report to the Marlboro Division of Police at 732-536-0100 to report. In case of emergencies, dial 911.
We will update you as needed. Stay safe.
