Dear Neighbor,

As we have done each year, our community comes together to pay tribute to the 14 Marlboro residents and all those who lost their lives in the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. The ceremony will begin promptly at 8:30am on Saturday, September 11 at our Memorial located off Wyncrest Drive and accessible from the Recreation Center parking lot.

Please join family members of those who lost their lives that day, members of the Township Council, clergy, police, fire and first aid, CERT, Veteran and Volunteers committee, and community leaders.  Music will be provided by the Marlboro High School orchestra and chorus.

The Township rededicated our September 11 memorial in 2011 and, through the efforts of Councilman Jeff Cantor, was able to secure a 12-foot steel ‘I –beam’ from the World Trade Center.  The site also features commemorative pavers engraved with messages, a fountain and an area for private reflection. This beautiful setting has been the site of our annual commemoration ceremony.  Should you wish to support the memorial and become a part of this lasting memory, commemorative bricks can still be purchased (Form HERE).

Twenty years have passed since that fateful day, and I hope residents of all ages will join us. Please view the invitation HERE.

Yours in Community,
Mayor Jon Hornik
