UPDATE #3
RE: Storm Cleanup/Wind Advisory
Dear Resident,
As forecast, the storm brought high winds and more rain to our already saturated ground bringing with it flooded roads, downed trees and wires and power outages. Our area is currently under a Wind Advisory until 6:00 pm this evening with gusts up to 45 mph.
Power Outages: If you have not reported your outage to JCP&L, please do so by calling 888-LIGHTSS. One neighborhood and even street can be on difference circuits. Upon reporting, you will also have the option of receiving updates via text or call with estimated times of restoration for your home as each circuit can have different ETRs. Additionally, please note that JCP&L will often will de-energize a line to safely affect repairs on another.
Please do not call the police for power outage updates. They do not have access to that information and it is vital that their lines stay open for emergencies.
Road Closures: As of 7am this morning the following roads are closed. Police are on site. Do not drive past barricades or through flooded streets. Assume all downed wires and live and dangerous.
- Texas Road from Wooleytown to Greenwood- Trees and wires down
- Texas between Spring Valley and Wooleytown due to flooding by Tylers Lane
- Route 79 between Conover and Flower Lane – Trees and wires down
- Brown Road - Closed at both ends for downed utility pole
Charging/Warming Center: The Marlboro Recreation Center is open as a charging/warming center until 8:30 pm tonight (we will extend the hours, if required). If you have a medical device that relies upon electricity, please come to the Recreation Center to charge it before the battery is low. For all devices, please bring your charging cords and plugs. Outlets/power strips are provided. If you are in need of transportation to the Recreation Center, please call 732-536-0100.
Lastly, our Office of Emergency Management is tracking another storm expected to impact our area Friday night through Saturday with heavy rain and strong winds. More on that to follow.
Please stay safe. We will update you as needed.
