Weekend Update

Dear Resident,

This weekend, the Marlboro Soccer Association holds its 35th annual Kickoff Classic soccer tournament. Teams from the tri-state area will enjoy games at fields throughout the Township.  Please take it slow and leave extra time.  We wish the best of luck to all the teams, coaches and parents.

The Marlboro Farmers Market is open this Sunday from 9am to 1pm.  Check out this week’s vendors HERE and look for market updates on Facebook and Instagram. 

PROGRAMS AND EVENTS

Summer Concert – Please join us for a pop-up summer concert on Tuesday, August 29 at 7pm featuring EPIC Soul. FLYER

Classes and programs for Ages 60+ - Fall classes begin September 5 and registration is underway.  Physical fitness programs along with AARP Safety Driver Program, drop-in cards and games, knitting, discussion groups, health screenings and a NEW veterans monthly meet up.  All this and more HERE.

Marlboro Day will be held on Sunday, September 10 and vendor and sponsorship opportunities are open now. Don’t miss this opportunity to showcase your business in front of thousands of residents.

PUBLIC SAFETY - UPDATE

Neighborhood Vehicle Thefts and Safety Update – I want to thank the Marlboro Township Police Department led by Chief Pezzullo and the residents for doing their part to fight vehicle theft in Marlboro, down 32% over the same 6 month period in 2022. Public Safety Reminder - By working together, we are making a difference and reducing successful vehicle thefts. Please remember to lock your car doors, take the key fobs inside, remove garage door openers, lock your house doors/windows and set alarms.  Do not leave your keys easily visible/accessible.  If you see anything out of place or suspicious call the police at 732-536-0100.  For crimes in progress dial 911.  To read more about how we, as a community, are working together to keep our homes and families safe: https://www.marlboro-nj.gov/citizen-reporting-initiative

Domestic Violence Response Team (DVRT) –Work with the police and make a difference. DVRT members receive free training to support survivors of domestic violence.  Please see the FLYER from ‘180 turning Lives Around’ for more.

NJ State Back to School Sales Tax Holiday – August 26 through September 4, 2023 no sales tax will be charged on certain back to school items including computers, art supplies, school supplies, sports equipment and more purchased in store and on-line.  Read more HERE.  

COVID-19 Ratepayer Measures provide relief to ratepayers experiencing economic hardship during the COVID-19 pandemic.  The NJ Department of Community Affairs has developed a low income household water assistance program.  Please review the letter from the Marlboro Water Utility HERE.
