Weekend Update –Veterans Day Edition

Dear Resident,

November 11 is Veterans Day and I hope you will attend the Veterans Day ceremony Saturday at 11am at our Memorial in front of Town Hall.  This ceremony is hosted by our Veterans and Volunteers committee chaired by Judy Kushner and Paul Lorenz.  Marlboro High School musicians will provide music and light refreshments will follow. The ceremony is appropriate for all ages and I hope you will attend to honor those who has served our country in war and peace, living or not.

Veterans Day Schedule – Please note the following schedule in Observance of Veterans Day:

  • Friday, November 10 – Municipal Offices closed
  • Zone 4 recycling is Friday as scheduled

Today I, along with Chief Pezzullo, announced an expansion to our auto-theft prevention initiatives. In addition to The Pledge to take basic steps to keep our vehicles and homes safe, we are now introducing ‘Join the Club’. This is a partnership with the NJ Auto Theft Task Force and a direct result of the long term assignment from the Marlboro Police to the State task force. We are pleased to make The Club steering wheel lock available at no charge (max 2 per address). If you do not yet have an ‘I Took the Pledge’ lawn sign one will be delivered to your home by a Marlboro Police Officer along with The Club. Please see below for more and how to register on line.

Deer Rutting Season – Late October through mid-November especially between the hours of from 5 - 8 a.m. and 5-8 p.m. deer become more active and more likely to run into the road.  Combined with earlier dusk, this leads to more collisions.  Keep an eye out for movement on the sides of the road and look for eye reflection.  Deer tend to travel in packs so if you see one, more are likely to follow.  If you do hit a deer or see one on the side of the road, report to Police at 732-536-0100.  More about animal control, both domestic and wild, in Marlboro HERE.

Sexual Assault Response Team (SART) – Work with police and become a trained, confidential advocate.  Classes begin in January via zoom.  MORE…

Public Safety Reminder - By working together, we are making a difference and reducing successful vehicle thefts.
