Weekend Update

Dear Resident,

Earlier this week a wind and rain storm caused downed trees and wires, road flooding and closures and power outages. In the aftermath of Superstorm Sandy, using a $250,000 FEMA grant, the recreation was equipped with full backup generator capabilities for just such emergencies. During this outage, I directed that the recreation center be opened as a warming center and charging station for electronic and medical devices until all power was restored.

My thanks to the Police, Office of Emergency Management, CERT, Fire and First Aid and DPW for working non-stop until the power was returned to all residents and roads were reopened.

I want to remind residents that updates for this storm and all emergencies were sent via email, posted on social media, Next Door app, and SWIFT 911 by call and text.  It is important that you sign up for all lines of communication so we can stay in touch even when some lines are down.  MORE

In observance of the holidays, Town Hall offices and the Recycling Center will both be closed on December 25 and January 1.  As always, the police are open 24/7 and can be reached at 732-536-0100.  Emergencies dial 9-1-1.
