Weekend Update – Columbus Day Edition
Dear Resident,
Monday, October 10, is Columbus Day and the Township Municipal Offices and the Recycling Center are closed in observance. We remind residents that many services are available on line, including scheduling an inspection. The list can be found HERE.
The rain from storm Ian has moved on, the rain has (finally!) stopped and the Marlboro Farmers Market will be open Sunday from 9am to 1pm. Located near the corner of Routes 520 and 79, this week the market features 25 vendors with local produce, flowers, olive oil, butter, pickles, honey, eggs, fish, cheese and more. First Aid Squads Need You! Give back to your community and learn invaluable life skills. Marlboro and Morganville First Aid Squads offer free EMT certification and driver training to recruits, and active membership also qualifies volunteers for discounts on various Township fees and memberships and an annual contribution towards an individual retirement-type program. PUBLIC SAFETY
Safety Update – Please remember to lock your car doors, take the key fobs inside, remove garage door openers, lock your doors and set alarms. ANNOUNCEMENTS
Senior Freeze (Property Tax Reimbursement) Program – The deadline to file is October 31, 2022. For more information on how to utilize the Senior Freeze program, please view the notice, including a link to eligibility requirements, from the tax collector HERE.
ANCHOR Program – This replaces the Homestead Benefits program and provides property tax relief to NJ residents who owned or rented their principal residence and meet the income requirements. Filing deadline is December 30, 2022. For more, visit the state website HERE.
COVID-19 Ratepayer Relief Measures –Measures are in place to provide relief to ratepayers experiencing economic hardship during the COVID-19 pandemic. The NJ Department of Community Affairs has developed a low income household water assistance program. Please review the letter from the Marlboro Water Utility HERE.
