Weekend Update

Dear Resident,

I hope everyone had the opportunity to enjoy our extra February day and for those who were born on February 29, I wish you a very Happy Birthday! As we enter March and look forward to spring please mark your calendar for March 10 at 2am when we ‘Spring Forward’ to Daylight Saving Time. 

I am pleased to announce that Township Council meetings are now being live streamed allowing you to watch the meetings from any location.  Details and the link to view the meeting using Webex or to dial in by phone will be posted on the bottom of each Council agenda available on the Township Calendar.  Township Council meetings and events will continue to be shown post-event as scheduled programming on Marlboro’s Municipal Cable Television Channel programming available on Optimum channel 77 and FiOS channel 44 as well as on the website via ‘Marlboro TV’.

PUBLIC NOTICES

Brush Collection Has Resumed by Zone –Please see the letter send by DPW HERE.  Do not place brush curbside more than one week prior to your first scheduled day. We ask that you follow the regulations to ensure our roads stay safe and clear for pedestrians and vehicles. Thank you for your cooperation. 

2024 Recycling Calendar – The calendar has been mailed to all homes and is posted on the Township website and linked HERE

Correction! It has been brought to our attention that we were a bit creative with the August dates on the recycling calendar.  The calendar has been corrected on our website.  Please either print out August HERE or hand-correct your printed calendar.  All recycling zones were printed on the correct day.  Our apologies for the confusion. 

Spring Hydrant Flushing – Gordons Corner Water will begin their spring hydrant flushing on Monday, March 4 between the hours of 8am and 4:30pm.  For MORE…

Summer Jobs - Applications now being accepted for camp and swim club.  APPLICATION

Marlboro Community Garden is accepting applications for the 2024 season. Please visit https://marlboro-nj.gov/community-garden .  Read the Policies and Rules, scroll down, complete the application and click ‘submit’.  The garden manager will contact you with the dates and times of orientation sessions for new participants.   

Marlboro Youth Exchange Program – Learn more about this exciting opportunity for teens with an information session to be held on March 7. FLYER and INFO

PUBLIC SAFETY – UPDATE

Join the Club – We are pleased to announce that The Club steering wheel lock is back in stock.  To order yours please CLICK HERE to Take the Pledge and have The Club delivered to your home (max 2 per address). Please note that The Club is available while supplies last. 

DVRT –Volunteer Advocates are civilian members of the community who work collaboratively with law enforcement to provide confidential support to survivors of domestic violence.

Emergency Preparedness NJ Register Ready – You (or someone on your behalf) should register if you may find it difficult to get to safety during an emergency situation due to health or transportation barriers.  Register by printing, completing and mailing the form HERE, call 211 and register by phone or visit the website HERE and complete the form on line.   The information is only accessible to emergency management and first responders.

Pet Licensing Portal Open – Licensing your dogs and cats annually is required by state and town regulations.  The rabies vaccine must be current at the time of application.  On line and mail-in information HERE.

ANNOUNCEMENTS

Marlboro Home Improvement Program – If you live in Marlboro, own your home and your total gross household income is within limits (you are not required to live in affordable housing) you may be eligible for up to $20,000 in repairs for items such as heating/electrical, roofs, plumbing, weatherization and more.  For income limits and contact information see FLYER.

 

Commuter Parking Renewals: The 2024-2025 commuter parking permit renewal period for Marlboro Township's commuter parking lots is now open. Renewals must be completed on-line via the Township’s SDL Portal, on or before March 31, 2024. Paper applications are no longer accepted. Library Tax Assistance – Marlboro library is offering tax-aide through AARP.  Appointment suggested.  Please review flyer for required documents and how to make an appointment.  FLYER

Hometown Heroes Banner – Marlboro Veterans and Volunteers Committee announces Honor Hometown Hero banners.  Heroes can include past and resent Armed Forces personnel and First Responders.  FLYER

COVID-19 Ratepayer Measures provide relief to ratepayers experiencing economic hardship during the COVID-19 pandemic.  The NJ Department of Community Affairs has developed a low income household water assistance program.  Please review the letter from the Marlboro Water Utility HERE.
