Weekend Update

Dear Resident,

Daylight Saving Time begins Sunday, March 10.  Remember to turn your clocks ahead one hour before bed Saturday night.  Our fire officials suggest that residents use this opportunity to inspect smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors and make sure a family escape plan is in place.  FLYER

Spring thaw brings potholes to New Jersey and any place the ground freezes and thaws.  Please see below for how to report potholes directly to our Pothole Portal. 

Swim Club registration begins.  Learn more about the swim club, life guard classes and swim lessons under ‘Programs’ below.

Marlboro Pothole Portal – Spring thaw is pothole season throughout the northeast and we remind residents that our Pothole Portal is on our website throughout the year.  By entering the complaint directly it allows for an even more efficient response and allows residents who drive our streets every day to help direct resources to those areas most in need.  The Pothole Portal is a part of our SDL system and you need register only one time to access our many on-line services.  The link to the Pothole Portal can be found on the ‘Quick Links & Actions’ section of the Township throughout the year and linked HERE. Many roads in Marlboro are under state or county jurisdiction. State Roads can be reported using the online form HERE or call 1-800-POTHOLE.  Monmouth County Roads can be reported to 732-431-6550.

Station Road – Monmouth County will be cleaning the culvert on Station Road today (Friday). The road will be closed and detours in place during this time. 

Topanemus Road Work – Monday, March 11 thru Wednesday March 13, Topanemus Road southbound lane will be closed for concrete work.  A detour will be in place and officers on site to assist motorists.  

Brush Collection Has Resumed by Zone –We are entering the final week of brush collection.  Please see the letter sent by DPW HERE.  We ask that you follow the regulations to ensure our roads stay safe and clear for pedestrians and vehicles. Residents are reminded that brush is accepted at the recycling center, no permit or fee, throughout the year.  Thank you for your cooperation.  Bagged leaf collection will begin later this month.  More to follow. 

Become a Monmouth County Poll Worker – The Board of Election is seeking poll workers. FLYER and APPLICATION.    

2024 Recycling Calendar – The calendar has been mailed to all homes and is posted on the Township website and linked HERE.  (The calendar posted on the website has the corrected August dates.)

Spring Hydrant Flushing – Gordons Corner Water began their spring hydrant flushing on Monday, March 4 between the hours of 8am and 4:30pm.  For MORE…

DVRT –Volunteer Advocates are civilian members of the community who work collaboratively with law enforcement to provide confidential support to survivors of domestic violence.

Pet Licensing Portal Open – Licensing your dogs and cats annually is required by state and town regulations.  The rabies vaccine must be current at the time of application.  On line and mail-in information HERE.

ANNOUNCEMENTS

Marlboro Home Improvement Program – If you live in Marlboro, own your home and your total gross household income is within limits (you are not required to live in affordable housing) you may be eligible for up to $20,000 in repairs for items such as heating/electrical, roofs, plumbing, weatherization and more.  For income limits and contact information see FLYER.

 

Commuter Parking Renewals: The 2024-2025 commuter parking permit renewal period for Marlboro Township's commuter parking lots is now open. Renewals must be completed on-line via the Township’s SDL Portal, on or before March 31, 2024. Paper applications are no longer accepted. Library Tax Assistance – Marlboro library is offering tax-aide through AARP.  Appointment suggested.  Please review flyer for required documents and how to make an appointment.  FLYER

Hometown Heroes Banner – Marlboro Veterans and Volunteers Committee announces Honor Hometown Hero banners.  Heroes can include past and resent Armed Forces personnel and First Responders.  FLYER

COVID-19 Ratepayer Measures provide relief to ratepayers experiencing economic hardship during the COVID-19 pandemic.  The NJ Department of Community Affairs has developed a low income household water assistance program.  Please review the letter from the Marlboro Water Utility HERE.
