Weekend Update

Dear Resident,

Due to the forecast of inclement weather on Saturday, the Scrambled Eggstravaganza has been changed to Sunday April 2 from noon to 2pm.  Petting zoo, inflatables and a free egg hunt for ages 2 to 10.  Please see the FLYER for details and come enjoy this free, community event. 

Public schools are on spring break April 5 through 17.  Please slow down and keep an eye out for children and families outside enjoying their time off.  Town Hall municipal offices and the recycling center are open normal operating hours.   

NOTICES 

Fire Hydrant Flushing:

Marlboro Township Water Utility will begin the annual hydrant flushing on or about April 3 between the hours of 8am and 2:30pm.  Hydrant flushing is a part of routine maintenance to remove sediment and to ensure that hydrants are in working order.  Lower pressure and slight discoloration is normal when flushing is being done in your area and does not affect water quality. Simply run cold water until it runs clear.  See HERE for more. 

Leaf Collection (Bagged Only) –Bagged leaf collection continues by zone.  Please review the letter from DPW HERE.  Free leaf bags are available. Simply reserve on line HERE. The ‘Leaf Bag’ link can be found on the homepage under ‘Quick Links and Actions’. 

PROGRAMS AND EVENTS

Recreation Events for all ages. Youth classes include Magic, Bricks 4 Kidz, and Baking.  Learn to play cricket or tennis, enjoy strength classes or a track program.  Adult programming includes parent and me classes, pickleball clinic and total body conditioning.  Active Adult senior guide for residents age 60+ is varied and has programs for all interests with programs begin added regularly.  See details HERE.

Lifeguard Certification Classes - Summer Job needed? Red Cross Lifeguard Certification (or Recertification) available at the Marlboro Swim Club. You do not have to be a swim club member to take the class.  Provides entry-level participants the knowledge and skills to prevent, recognize and respond to aquatic emergencies and to provide care for breathing and cardiac emergencies, injuries and sudden illnesses until EMS personnel take over. Prerequisites: Must be age 15 by end of class.  FLYER

Domestic Violence Response Team (DVRT) – The Marlboro Township Police Department is currently seeking volunteers to serve on the DVRT.  In affiliation with 180 Turning Lives Around (180), and with the assistance of the response team volunteers, the Marlboro Police Department continues to make this free, 24/7 confidential service available to victims of domestic violence in the aftermath of a highly emotional and traumatic experience. First Aid Squads Need You! Give back to your community and learn invaluable life skills.   Marlboro and Morganville First Aid Squads offer free EMT certification and driver training to recruits, and active membership also qualifies volunteers for discounts on various Township fees and memberships and an annual contribution towards an individual retirement-type program.  Want to learn more? Spring Vacations Security Check – Set your alarms, lock yours doors, make sure cars are locked and fobs safely away.  Add extra security by requesting a police security check.  WAIVER HERE

By working together, we are making a difference and reducing successful vehicle thefts. Please remember to lock your car doors, take the key fobs inside, remove garage door openers, lock your house doors and set alarms.  If you have not yet done so request an ‘I Took the Pledge’ lawn sign and download the ‘Neighbors’ app.  Most importantly, if you see anything out of place or suspicious call the police at 732-536-0100.  For crimes in progress dial 911.  To read more about how we, as a community, are working together to keep our homes and families safe, click HERE.

COVID-19 Ratepayer Relief Measures – Measures are in place to provide relief to ratepayers experiencing economic hardship during the COVID-19 pandemic.  The NJ Department of Community Affairs has developed a low income household water assistance program.  Please review the letter from the Marlboro Water Utility HERE.
