Winter Storm Warning Friday - Update #1
Dear Resident,
The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for our area beginning tomorrow, Friday, from 4:00am to 10:00 pm. Forecast snowfall totals have increased across the area and snow accumulations of 4-6” with locally higher amounts are possible. Snow will begin 4-7am Friday morning and continue through the evening.
Temperatures will rapidly drop into the teens late Friday night into Saturday and untreated roads and surfaces including driveways and sidewalks will become icy and dangerous.
In advance of the storm, the Department of Public Works is treating our main and collector roads this afternoon.
Please take this time to plan and prepare.
- Remove Vehicles and Obstructions from Roads - As per Township ordinance, when the roads are snow covered all vehicles and obstructions such as basketball hoops must be off the roadway. This includes the duration of the storm and the cleanup that follows.
- Recreation afternoon/evening programs Cancelled Friday - The Marlboro K-8 schools have called for a one-session day Friday. Accordingly, all afternoon and evening Marlboro Recreation programs are cancelled.
- Snow Preparations - Please review the ‘Surviving the Snow’ on pages 22 and 23 of the Recycling Calendar and linked HERE for tips, important numbers and websites.
We will send updates as needed via email, website and social media.
Stay safe,
Mayor Jon Hornik
