Winter Weather Advisory – Update #1

Dear Resident,

The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued an advisory for our area concerning a winter weather storm to begin late this evening and continue through the Tuesday morning rush hour.

The forecast currently calls for rain to begin tonight, changing over to snow Tuesday morning with a possible significant snowfall. There is still some uncertainty with respect to the forecasted snow totals for the Routes 195 to 95 corridor. In addition, the NWS has also forecasted heavy winds for our area, with gusts up to 35 mph.

As a reminder, in the event of power outages, report your outage by calling 1-888-LIGHTSS (1-888-544-4877), clicking the “Report Outage” link on www.firstenergycorp.com, or by texting out to 544487.

At this time, please plan accordingly for potentially hazardous travel conditions during the Tuesday morning commute. Untreated surfaces including sidewalks and driveways will likely be slippery.

Please review the ‘Surviving the Snow’ on pages 22 and 23 of the Recycling Calendar and linked HERE for tips, important numbers and websites.

We will continue to monitor updates to the forecast, and keep you posted as to any changes via email, social media channels and the Township website.

Stay safe,

Mayor Jon Hornik
